-Somali government officials announced today that TSA (Transportation Security Administration) officers from the United States have arrived in Mogadishu. They are assessing the security measures at Aden Adde International Airport.

It was reported that the TSA team was in Mogadishu yesterday, meeting with airport management and other officials to discuss the security of Aden Adde International Airport.

According to the government television, these meetings are expected to lay the groundwork for future direct flights between Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu and U.S. airports.

The TSA, part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is responsible for airport and travel security.
