Turkey condemns a suicide attack on their training camp in Mogadishu

Ankara (SD) – Turkish Foreign Ministry condemns today’s suicide attack near the Turkish Military Training Academy in Mogadishu, Somalia.

Press Release Regarding the Terrorist Attack in Somalia said “We condemn the suicide attack perpetrated today in front of a primary school near TURKSOM Military Training Academy in Mogadishu. We share the grief of the friendly and brotherly Somali people, wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives during the attack and extend our condolences to their families.”

Al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the attack, and said one of their militants had detonated a suicide fest at the barracks used as a training camp located on the outskirts of Turkesom camp.

Turkeysom training school guards shot the suicide bomber wanting to blow up a number of young students who wanted to join the Somali National Army.

Local reports indicate that three people including the suicide bomber died in the attack, its not clear if there were any injured individuals in the attack.

Turkey’s military training center was established in 2017 in the Somali capital, Mogadishu. It provides training to Somali security forces.
