JOWHAR (SD) – At least two HirShabeelle state lawmakers have sustained injuries last night after a hand grenade in Jowhar town of Middle Shabelle region.
The MPs identified as Abdirahman Idow and Mohamed Dheere were injured and rushed to Jowhar general Hospital.
The incident comes barely a month after three MPs from HirShabelle were also targeted in a hand grenade in Jowhar.
Al-Shabaab militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack saying their operative targeted the lawmakers.
The attack comes barely a month after three regional MPs were injured in a similar grenade attack at an administrator’s residence in Jowhar town.
