Washington January 13,2023 (SD) -The United States has announced that Somali individuals without legal status in the country can remain for an additional 18 months.
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas also stated that Somalia has once again been designated as a country facing a significant humanitarian crisis.
The extension will begin on March 18, 2023, and will end on September 17, 2024. These individuals are referred to as having Temporary Protected Status (TPS).
This move will allow about 430 people to benefit from this and remain in the United States until September 17, 2024, if they meet the conditions of the law, which will soon be announced by the US government.
