Nairobi January -The United States is announcing a monetary reward of up to $10 million for information leading to the capture of Mohamud Abdi Aden and other individuals responsible for the attack on the DusitD2 hotel in 2019, in which at least 22 people, including an American citizen, were killed.
The Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (DCI) in Kenya, Amiin Mohamed Ibrahim, and the United States Ambassador to Kenya, Meg Whitman, held a joint press conference at the DCI headquarters, encouraging the public to contact security agencies with any information or sightings of suspect Mohamud Abdi Aden.
“I am announcing a monetary reward of up to $10 million for information leading to the capture of Mohamud Abdi Aden and those who assisted or were involved in the attack on the DusitD2 hotel,” said US Ambassador to Kenya, Meg Whitman.
The Al-Qaida affiliated group, Al-Shabaab, claimed responsibility for the attack that took place on January 15, 2019, on the hotel, lasting nearly 20 hours and resulting in the death of at least 21 people, including an American citizen.
