United States Transfers Military Equipment to Somali National Army in Fight Against Terrorism

MOGADISHU (SD) – The United States government has handed over a shipment of military equipment, including computers, to the Federal Government of Somalia. The supplies are intended to support the Somali National Army (SNA) ‘s ongoing counterterrorism operations.

The Ministry of Defense of the Federal Republic of Somalia, which received the equipment, expressed gratitude to Commander Richard Riley and the U.S. government for their consistent support to the SNA.

“The Ministry particularly welcomes today’s delivery of technical equipment to the Danab Commandos, which will significantly enhance their operational capabilities in counterterrorism and strengthen the National Army’s overall effectiveness in addressing security challenges,” the ministry stated in an official release.

“The strong partnership between our two nations plays a vital role in boosting the capacity of our forces, improving accountability, and ensuring long-term security stability.”
