Mogadishu (SD) – The UN Assistance Mission in Somalia, on a Twitter post, welcomed the planned meeting of the leaders of the Federal member States of Somalia in Dhusamareb.

The conference is a prelude to the upcoming meeting between Federal Government and regional member state leaders, key issues to be discussed at the meetings include, electoral issues, security and the constitutional review process.

The UN Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) has already called for extensive consultations with Somali political leaders to reach an agreement on the country’s political Future.

UNSOM and other stakeholders are looking for a political out on the current Somalia stalemate regarding issues surrounding the upcoming elections in the country.
