Mogadishu (SD) – The Federal Government of Somalia in collaboration with US AFRICOM forces carried out an airstrike near Kurtunwarey in Lower Shabelle Somalia, according to a AFRICOM press release.

The bombing targeted and killed an al-Shabaab terrorist. The dead man was known for preparing explosives for roads used by public transport.

The commander of US forces in Africa, General Joel Tyler, confirmed there were no civilian casualties.
