Villa Somalia questions AMISOM following Kenyan military action

Mogadishu (SD) – Somali President’s security adviser has sent an inquest request letter to the AMISOM command, after Kenyan forces killed civilians in the town of Elwak in Gedo region.

The letter, signed by national security adviser to the President Abdi Said Muse Ali, dated October 1, 2020, was addressed to the African Union’s envoy to Somalia, AMISOM chief Francisco Madeira.

Kenyan forces were seen on media on September 21st killing civilians in Elwak and taking others away.

The inquest request to AMISOM comes at a time when Kenyan warplanes have again bombed areas in Gedo region today, although no casualties have been reported so far.
