HARGEISA (SD) – The counting of votes for the combined presidential and political party elections in Somaliland has officially concluded.
The counting process has been completed for all 2,337 polling stations located across most regions and districts of Somaliland.
In a press conference held last night, the Chairman of the Somaliland Election Commission, Muse Hassan Yusuf, explained the process for announcing the election results.
The Chairman also clarified that only the Election Commission is authorized to announce the official results, and he warned against the dissemination of unofficial and illegal results.
“We warn party officials and the media not to publish unofficial results that have not been released by the Election Commission,” said Muse Hassan Yusuf.
The Election Commission has reportedly restricted party representatives from sharing information about the counted votes.
The preliminary election results are expected to be announced soon after verification, with the official results scheduled to be released on the 21st of this month.
