Hargeisa (SD) – Secretary General of the Waddani Khadar party Hussein Abdi, accused the Somaliland government of not being serious about the security of Las Anod.

The secretary general said that government security minister Mohamed Kahin had traveled to the western regions of Somaliland, at a time he was expected to visit Sool region to assess the security situation in that region.

“The interior minister, if he is serious about his love for the people of Las Anod, he wouldn’t be dancing in Borama and Gabiley, while bodies laid in Las Anod, “He would have been sad and he would have gone and looked into the problem,” he said.

Adding “”As far as we know, there is no new information from the government about the problems in Las Anod. The government’s announcement of a Committee was a response to a committee formed by the locals, so is the government’s work reduced to a response only,”

Las Anod, the capital of Sool has seen an increase in killings of government officials in recent months.
