Addis Ababa(SD)-The African Union (AU) has issued a statement urging the Somali and Kenyan sides to peacefully resolve the Maritime border issue.

The African Union Peace and Security Council has urged the Chairperson of the African Union Commission to immediately appoint a special envoy to work with the parties to find a stable, peaceful solution, consultation and co-operation with regional policies.

The announcement comes after the ICJ court only yesterday postponed the trial of the two countries for two months.

Kenya always wanted to have other entities to be involved in the disbute resolution, while Somalia was addemet in wanting the ICJ was best equipt in hearing the issue.
