Wadani released officials: we will not be afraid of arrests or ammunition and that we will continue to fight

Hargeisa (SD) – Wadani party secretary Khadar Hussein Abdi and Barkhad party spokesman Jama Batun said their arrests were illegal, and thanked the public and those who defended them online.

He said he was detained while visiting Barkhad Batun Wadani spokesperson, without giving him any reason for his arrest.

“We have been locked up in Mandera for nine days, but we have told them that we will not be afraid of arrests or ammunition and that we will continue to fight,” said Wadani party spokesperson Barkhad Batun.

Wadani Secretary General Khaddar Hussein Abdi spoke about how they were arrested and what happened during their detention, and called on the businessmen to help those who are in prison because they are unable to pay debt they owe, be generous to people in prisons, and visit them.

He also said that the international community and the Somaliland community have spoken out strongly about their illegal arrest and the delay in the elections, noting that this is the first time the International community have spoken out in this way.
