Hargeisa (SD) – The Somaliland government started implementing the National Coronavirus Prevention Committee recommendations by quarantining all passengers arriving at Hargeisa airport.
Reports add that some of the quarantined include some officials and one of the port’s cargo workers who handled goods for a woman who has returned from trip, allegedly touching the goods, and has now been taken to a designated destination.
In Hargeisa and other cities in Somaliland, public events and public gatherings are cancelled, these are part of the commission’s plan to curb the spread of the disease.
Somaliland has also closed its borders including airspace, baring few exceptions, due to the same recommendations. There has been similar bans announced by the Somali federal government, Somaliland dismissed those as non related and have no effect on Somaliland
