Jubaland president travels to Nairobi

Kismayo(SD)-The president of the Jubbaland state of Somalia, Ahmed Mohamed Islam and a delegation led by him, arrived Sunday in Nairobi, Kenya.

The president’s delegation departed from the port city of Kismayo, will land directly in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital. This again breaches the Federal Government’s directive that both flights to and from Kismayo go through Mogadishu.

This is the first trip of Jubaland regional president Ahmed Mohamed Islam is leaving the country, since his controversial re-election in August of this year in Kismayo, the Somali federal government has declared that they do not recognize the result.

Reports from Kismayu indicate that the president’s trip is related to political issues surrounding Jubaland, particularly in Gedo, were the Federal Government of Somalia is causing chaos and disturbance within the regional communities of Jubaland state.
