Dhusamareb (SD) – The Prime Minister of Somalia Hassan Ali Kheyre in Dhusamareb district held a meeting today with Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a leader Mohamud Sheikh Hassan.
Ahlu Sunna has several concerns with the government election plans in Galmudug, in terms of the process for selecting the members of the new parliament and the government forces in Dhusamareb and clashes with their armed fighters.
The Somali Prime Minister and the Ahlu Sunna leader were accompanied by Somali Minister of Interior and Reconciliation Mohamed Abdi Sabriye.
Sources close to Ahlu Sunna say that the group have demanded the implementation of previous commitments and agreements reached so that the list of their 20 elected MPs will be enforced.
Kheyre will continue his meetings with the parties involved in the formation of the Galmudug Parliament especially the traditional elders who are the ultimate signatories.
Yesterday was the deadline of the election committee’s timetable for presenting the list of new MPs, it appears to have been delayed.
