Hargeisa(SD)-The head of the British government’s office in Hargeisa, Ambassador Stuart Brown, applauded the motion tabled by parliamentarians regarding the increase in the number of electoral commission, which was a part of the parties’ agreement reached 27 July.
“I welcome the motion on increasing the membership of the electoral committee. It is vital evidence that all parties are committed to implementing the July 27 agreement on Somaliland’s parliamentary and municipality elections”. Ambassador Stuart was quoted by media.
The motion has since caused a dispute among the MP’s, specifically the among the outline regions of Somaliland claiming it did not go far enough to reform other discrepancies, such as the proportional equality of the Somaliland regions.
