Hargeisa (SD) – A Fly Dubai flight to Hargeisa was refused entry to Somaliland this morning, according to sources on the plane.
The Fly Dubai plane was also to fly back to the United Arab Emirates with passengers who were ready at the airport this morning.
There were 118 passengers on the Fly Dubai flight to Hargeisa, according to a passenger on the plane.
The United Arab Emirates were not included in the list of banned countries by the Somaliland government in effort to contain the coronavirus.
It is not yet clear what caused the aircraft to turn back, but this comes at a time when the Somali government has ordered a ban on all international flights to Somalia.
The Somaliland government didn’t yet comment on the situation yet, neither did the Emiratis or the federal government of Somalia.
