Mogadishu street Cameras targeted

Mogadishu (SD) – At least five explosions were heard in the early morning hours in Mogadishu, according to witnesses.

It was reported that the Maka Al Mukarama road traffic light cameras were targeted.

The people Mogadishu heard Somali security forces firing after the explosions, its not yet clear who they were firing at.

The targeted street cameras were a security feature on key intersections in Mogadishu and were put up by the security forces.

Its not yet known who was behind the early morning blasts, Al Shabab is suspected to be against the surveillance of their movements, therefore targeting the cameras.

No casualties were reported as a result of the blasts targeting the Maka Al-Mukarama road cameras, but the cameras were reportedly destroyed.
