Dhusamareb (SD) -A statement from the head of Ahlu Sunna Sheikh Mohamed Shakir Ali Hassan said they are no longer part of the Galmudug presidential election process.

The statement from Ahlu Sunna has accused the Somali government of interfering with the selection of the second lawmakers of Galmudug parliament and that they were refused to select their lawmakers.

Ahlu Sunna’s statement comes as the new Presidential Electoral Commission met today, and set out the requirements for candidates to run for president and vice president.

The Somali Federal Government did not respond to this latest development in the election process.
