Mogadishu(SD)-The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has spoke about the killing of Almaas Elman, a former peace activist and diplomat, in the Halane camp on Wednesday afternoon.

AMISOM spokesman said that as Almaas emerged from a meeting at the Halane compound, she was shot while in her car, but two other passengers were unharmed.

“AMISOM is working together with the Federal Government of Somalia and the Somali security forces to fully cooperate in the investigation on the killing of the activist ” said a statement from AMISOM.

More was expected from AMISOM in terms revealing who hand a hand in the killing.

Somalis prior to the killing of Almaas Elman were suspicious of Halane and who is in charged and now are more concerned about it’s safety.
