Dhusamareb (SD) – At least 20 people have been killed and dozens of others injured in a fierce battle in central Somalia, Local Media reported today

The fighting erupted between Somali government forces and Ahlu Sunna Wal Jama’a.

Today’s clashes followed a brief fighting that took place at Inji center last night, but today’s fighting spread to region, according to local media.

Reports from of Dhusamareb say that a government soldier was killed in today’s fighting, the violence caused all movements to come to stop, trapping residents in their homes.

Ahlu Sunna Wal Jama’a and the Somali federal government troops also clashed in Guri-el, also in central regions of Somalia.

Two people have been confirmed dead in the Guri-el, much more have been injured, however, the Guri-el situation appears to be stable.

The government has not released any statement about the clashes that took place today in Dhusamareb and Guri-el districts of Galgudud region.
