Djibouti (SD) – The Djiboutian government’s DARE1 internet connection is not intended for Somaliland but was to extend beyond it, Djibouti’s Minister of Communications confirms.
The minister also announced that the Djiboutian interior minister is traveling to Somaliland, but said he was not going there to discuss the Internet issues.
“No one can harm the brotherly relations between Somaliland and Djibouti,” said Djiboutian Minister of Economy and Finance Ilyas Muse Dawaleh.
He was speaking on the issue of Somaliland’s rejection of the internet cables at Berbera, saying the project had no legal status in the country and had refused to let it through to Somalia.
The minister went on to say that we should swim together rather than drown together.
