Faisal Ali Warabe” No Frontline Countries Involvement In Dialogue With Somalia

Hargeisa (SD) – The chairman of the opposition party, UCID, Eng. Faysal Ali Warabe, today opposed the new plan of dialogue between Somaliland and Somalia, allegedly proposed by Ethiopian PM Abey Ahmed.

The UCID chairman declared that Abey Ahmed’s plan for the Somalia and Somaliland dialogue is undermining the existence of Somaliland as an independent nation and that the PM and Djiboutian leader both want to reunite Somalia and Somaliland.

“Somaliland does not accept the frontline countries, such as Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya and Eritrea to be involved in the Somaliland and Somalia negotiations, because each has its own agenda,” Faisal Ali Warabe said.

The UCID Chairman pointed out that both Djibouti and Ethiopian current leadership believe that Somaliland and Somalia should reunite, adding they should consider allowing Djibouti and the Somali state of Ethiopia joining in as well.

“Abey Ahmed should also consider the Somali State of Ethiopia joining the greater Somalia unification efforts, Djibouti should do the same.” Said the Chairman.

The Chairman also dismissed that Somaliland is open in dealing with Somali PM Hassan Kheyre and not President Farmajo.

The UCID Chairman was speaking today at a joint press conference with other Somaliland leaders in Hargeisa.
