Mogadishu (SD) – The Somali Ministry of Health has announced 9 new cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in the country today, indicating an increasing number of community infections.

The Ministry’s statement said six of the 9 confirmed today encountered patients of the Coronavirus, four of the confirmed are said to be working for the Ministry of health.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Somalia is at 21, as the Somali Ministry of Health reported.

The ministry said this indicates that the disease is spreading in the country, and recommended that everyone take extra precautions, following all the instructions and advice the Ministry provided.

The government is currently taking coordinated efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country, some of Mogadishu’s Mosques and streets were closed in effort to implement social distancing.
