Jowhar(SD)-Details are coming out of  an early morning fighting  between Somali forces and Al Shabab in Jowhar.

The fighting erupted early  morning when Al-Shabaab militants attacked the Somali government military base at Keli Warabe, about 4KM west of Jowhar district.

Witnesses in the area reported that they could hear the gunshots used by both sides, but did not say if they know of any casualties.

Al-Shabab said on its website that it had temporarily seized control of the government forces and seized military equipment.

This attack comes at a time when many areas and districts in the two Shabelle regions are undergoing operations against al-Shabaab.
