Jowhar (SD) – The President of Hirshabelle, Mohamed Abdi Ware and the United Nations Special Representative for Somalia James Swan held their second meeting in a week at the Hirshabelle administrative center in Jowhar.
The meeting was also attended by EU Special Envoy to Somalia, Nicolas Berlanga, Deputy Special Representative of the African Union, officials from the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).
In a joint press conference held by President Hirshabelle and the UN Special Envoy, they described the meeting.
“We have discussed issues such as security, welfare, the overall situation of the country and the 2020 elections,” said President Ware.
The Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Somalia, James Swan, also spoke “We came here with representatives from the African Union, the European Union and IGAD in the capital of Hirshabelle for the second time in consultation regarding the federal government and the 2020 elections.”
“We are talking to different sections of the community, community leaders to get their views on elections, community development and security,” concludes James Swan.
