Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland’s House of Representatives Chairman Bashe Mohamed Farah said he pardoned UCID’s Interior Secretary Mahmoud Ali Ramah after his elders requested Ramah’s release.
Chairman Bashe had the politician arrested after he had raised serious allegations, including that the Speaker of Parliament had to work with the enemies of Somaliland, prompting him to sue Ramah to make clear his statements about him.
“Ramah has accused me by telling the media that I work with the enemies of Somaliland and I am the Speaker of Parliament if I am working with an enemy I should resign I wrote to the attorney general telling them I was accused of working with the enemy of Somaliland, the prosecution reported it to the police, and the police arrested him” said Speaker Bashe.
Also, he said that the traditional leaders of the politician have asked him to forgive him,
“Ramah’s elders had asked me to forgive him, and I asked him to apologize and that it never happens again, so I forgave Ramah.” said Bashe.
The UCID Interior Secretary is a fierce opposition leader against the current Kulmiye leadership, which he used to belong once. UCID or the Interior Secretary has commented on the speakers claims, Ramah is yet to be released as well.
