Kismayo (SD) – Jubaland leaders meet in Kismayo to discuss recent Somali government troops arriving in the region.
According to a press release from the Jubaland Cabinet, the Jubaland armed forces has been put on high alert by various forces.
“The council affirms that the consequences of the war and its responsibility will be with the federal government of Somalia,” the statement said,
The Somali federal government forces have seized Beled-Hawa and Dolo districts in the last few days, which means that the Gedo region, which is part of the Jubaland administration, is now under the control of the central government.
The Somali government has previously refused to recognize Ahmed Madobe as the elected Jubaland president, and announced plans to establish a new administration.
