Jubaland lifts Somalia government ban

Kismayo(SD)- A cabinet meeting in Kismayo chaired by President Ahmed Mohamed Islam had been agreed to lift the ban on Somalia Government officials over the possibility of coming to Kismayo during the elections.

The Jubbaland administration has tightened security in Kismayo, by sea, air and land links were blocked during the election.

The dispute between the federal government and the Jubbaland administration has led to the interruption of cooperation between the two sides, leading to the ban on Kismayo by Federal Government officials.

Ahmed Madobe was elected president on 22nd in January, though it caused crisis on his election and the manner in which it was managed and led to the emergence of other officials who claimed to be president.

The Somalia government declared the election illegal and said it would not recognize the result.
