Mogadishu (SD) – Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has addressed the nation today regarding the first Coronavirus infected person is in the country.
President Farmajo has sent a message to the people of Somalia about the infection, saying the Somali government is committed to safeguarding the country’s health.
The President noted that neighboring countries Kenya and Ethiopia are among the many countries in the world, which has been impacted by the disease.
“So far we have confirmed one patient in our country, the is a high-risk disease and has spread rapidly in many countries, including our neighboring countries, Ethiopia and Kenya,” President Farmajo said.
The President called on the Somali people to adhere to health guidelines and guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health, and to reduce travel, travel, essential meetings and the like, to reduce the spread of COVID-19 infection.
