Somalia’s health minister has just confirmed the first Covid-19 case in the country.
In a press conference televised on state media, Fozio Abikar Nur mentioned the case has to do with Somali citizen who returned from abroad in unspecified number of days ago, and is among several Somalis quarantined inside Mogadishu airport.
Somalia becomes the third country confirmed Covid-19 in East Africa after Kenya and Ethiopia reported their first cases on Friday 13, March.
The coronavirus COVID-19 is affecting 162 countries and territories around the world and 1 international conveyance .
The Somali Minister didn’t ring the alarm on possible social spreading on the virus.
