President Farmajo: Kenya is modeling in Somalia affairs

Mogadishu (SD) -Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo in an exclusive interview with Universal TV, spoke on several issues, including government troops deployed in Gedo region, Kenya’s intervention and the Jubaland elections.

President Farmajo said the Somali government is responsible for addressing security issues across the country and blaming the Kenyan government for its intervention in certain parts of Somalia.

“Why is Kenya interested in Jubaland, it shouldn’t interfere. There is a maritime case between us and Kenya, you know? it’s trying to get a leverage, especially on Jubaland and it wants to use it as a shield.” said the president of Farmajo.

President Farmajo said that some of the neighboring governments used to play against the Somali president and the prime minister, but he said when we realized this, they had now moved on in using local state government to destroy the government.

The president’s statement comes at a time when there is still a growing conflict between the federal government and regional governments of Puntland and Jubaland.
