Mogadishu (SD) – The President of the Federal Government of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo hosted a dinner honoring National and regional youth umbrella organizations at the 2019 National Youth Conference.
The President briefed the youth on plans for political and economic empowerment of the youth, which the Government would invest in developing and strengthening their leadership role in the country.
“We are now moving to give the power back the country’s youth, starting with the elections. For their part, the youth of Somalia must hold themselves accountable in their efforts, contributions to development and governance for their country. ” said President Farmajo.
The President noted that the government has taken steps to strengthen the unity and sovereignty of the country, through the restoration of the status of Somali youth in the region and the world at large.
The dinner honoring the Somali youth was attended by Banadir Governor Omar Mohamud Mohamed, Presidential Director Dr. Nur Dirie Hirsi (Forsade), General Manager of Somali National Development Agency Bashir Mohamed Jama, members of the Somali Federal Parliament and the management and Australian Team players who came to the country for humanitarian activities and to promote sports competitions and to promote integration.
