Garowe (SD) – Transitional Puntland Electoral Commission (TPEC) has today approved the roadmap for the upcoming local elections in Puntland.

The Puntland Electoral Commission has scheduled that in two (2) years local elections to be held in Puntland.

The plan prepared by the Committee will be unveiled at a major launch in December, the Commission said.

The Puntland Electoral Commission was appointed without consultations with the government by President Deni in August 2019, has recently held meetings with the public, politicians and institutions in support of democracy.

President Deni has already pledged to implement a democracy program in Puntland, which previous governments had failed.
