Puntland and Jubaland political partnership communique

Bossaso (SD) – Puntland and Jubaland announced on Monday a joint communiqué issued by the two-party’s consultative conference on Saturday and Sunday in Bossaso, the regional capital of Bari region.

The three-page communiqué presents 16 articles from the Puntland-Jubaland consultative meetings in Bossaso, which has been ongoing for the past two days.

According to the Jubaland and Puntland communiqué, they have unanimously denounced laws enacted by the Federal Parliament of Somalia on the Petroleum Act, the Electoral Law, the press and the process of constitutional review.

In addition, they warned against politicizing international aid, Social Affairs, Developmental Programs, and Civil Aviation for Somalia, and condemned the sanctions imposed by the Somali Federal Government on flights to Jubaland.

On the other hand, the two local administrations called for a consultation meetings between the Federal Government and regional states.

Finally, Puntland and Jubaland announced that they have formed joint co-operation committees, which will work in the fields of co-operation in their fight against terrorism, economic development, public institutions and federalism in the country.
