Dhahar (SD)-The new Speaker of Puntland Parliament, Abdirashid Yusuf Jibril, has arrived in Sanaag region, a region that recently protested against Puntland administration.

His trip is about restoring the people’s confidence in Puntland, shortly after a massive demonstrations against the admiration was seen in the region.

The protest followed after the Puntland government pushed for the ouster of the speaker of the house recently.

Chairman Abdirashid started his tour in Dhahar district, where he received a warm welcome generally, though protesters were seen in some areas.

His visit comes as military officials from the region warn of Puntland’s interference with resources in their area.
