New York (SD) – The Security Council adopted a resolution renewing the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM), until 31 August, 2021.
Resolution 2540, adopted jointly by the 15 members of the council, calls on UNSOM to maintain and strengthen its presence in all Federal Member States of Somalia, in accordance with UN security requirements and the security situation.
He called on the federal government and federal member states to promote consultations and build consensus through consultative processes at all levels.
