Dhusamareb (SD) – The Somali government is accelerating the Galmudug state formation process which has been delayed several times after clashes between the Somali government and Ahlu Sunna Wal Jama.
The Minister of Interior and Reconciliation of the Somali Government Abdi Mohamed Sabriye said he is committed to the formation of a Galmudug Regional State, inclusive of all communities living in Galmudug areas and put in place plans to accomplish this.
Minister Sabriye said the agreement with Ahlu Sunna Waljama will play a major role in the completion of Galmudug’s construction, and is expecting communities to speed up the process of building the administration.
The Ministry of Interior, Federalism and Reconciliation on Thursday succeeded in reaching an agreement with Ahlu Sunna Wal Jama clerics, government officials, civil society and the international community have welcomed the move.
