Washington(SD)-President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, along with Somali foreign ministers, finance and diplomats working in the United States have unveiled the new Washington Embassy building in Washington.
The President said the implementation of the building, which will serve as the first Somali owned embassy in the United States, shows the government’s priority in restoring its international status.
The president urged the Somali community in the United States to work closely with the diplomats of the embassy, pointing out that the building is the property of the Somali people and the Federal Government of Somalia.
President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has urged Somali diplomats in Washington to serve equally, to be fully aware of the Somali people they represent, and to protect their unity.
