Mogadishu(SD)-The Federal Government of Somalia has canceled for the  second time, a lecture by Sheikh Mohamed Abdi Umal in Mogadishu.

The Somali Ministry of Religious Affairs issued a statement on the cancellation of Sheikh Mohamed Abdi Umal’s lecture after a heated debate over it.

The Minister did not specify why it was canceled, but announced that there will be no lecture by Sheikh Umal tomorrow.

Sheikh Umal’s lectures sparked controversy with Sufi clerics, who called on the Somali government to end the lectures, and if they were held, they will be held accountable.
