Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland Vice President Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail (Saylici) has officially launched the e-shilling service, which will allow public employees to receive their salaries electronically or online.

Somaliland Central Bank designed the project, said that this service provides accountability and transparency, and is an opportunity for public employees in all the regions of the country and can all get paid at the same time.

Chairman of the Somaliland Labor Organization Farhan Heybe said the service would eliminate fraudulently paying non-existent employees and fees associated with payments.

Somaliland Vice President Abdirahman Saylici spoke at the event and thanked the participants for implementing the program.

Also, the Minister of Finance, the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Dahabshiil and Telesom, praised the new service to the public sector.

This system eliminates corruption of workers’ salaries and payments to unregistered employees.
