Taipei (SD) – Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry in a Tweet today welcomed relations and cooperation between Somaliland and Taiwan.

The foreign ministry said “Taiwan and Somaliland share the same democratic values and we look forward to working together for the good of humankind”

The Vice President of Somaliland recently in a tweet, Congratulated the President and Vice President of Taiwan on their re-election.

Taiwan is recognized by the United States and other countries, but China has obstructed them in joining the United Nations.

Somaliland re-gained its independence from Somalia in 1991, the International community deals with Somaliland as a semi-autonomous state.
