Mogadishu(SD)- A number of mortar shells have landed near the Aden Adde airport, especially the AMISOM base in Halane.

Reports indicate that at least seven people were injured in the shelling.

It is not the first time a mortar shell has hit the Halane compound in Mogadishu.

The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia, James Swan, has condemned today’s mortar attacks on the UN and AMISOM bases in the Somali capital, Halane.

No entity has claimed the attacks on Halane so far.

The AMISOM base in Halane is the residence for members of the international community, and has also been hit several times with casualties.
