Villa Somalia Distances its self from Gen. Gulwade, fails to condemn the historic atrocity

Mogadishu (SD) – Somalia’ Presidency has distanced its self from comments made by General Abdirahman Abdi Hussein (Gulwade), disregarding Somaliland’s grievances against Somalia.

He said that the previous Somalia government was right in the bombardment of Somaliland by of the Revolutionary Army, which as result massacred lots civilians.

Gen. Abdirahman Abdi Hussein (Gulwade) is part of the committee appointed by President Farmajo for the Somalia-Somaliland talks.

A statement from Villa Somalia stated that Ambassador Abdirahman Gulwade has resigned from his role as a member of the National Reconciliation Commission.

“The statements made by Ambassador Gulwade to the media are far from the reality we live in today, and it hurts the current dialogue aimed at reuniting Somali people and re-establishing a unified Somali government.” Said the statement from Villa Somalia.

The Villa Somalia Statement didn’t speak to the previous military government decision to bombard Somali civilians Citizens. As matter of fact, the Villa Somalia’s statement dismissed that reality all together, shame on them.
