Speaker of the Somali Upper House questions the Country’s Public Finance Law

Mogadishu (SD) -The Speaker of the Upper House of the Somali Parliament, Mr. Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, issues a press release addressed to Somali President Mohamed Farmajo with an unusual request.

Abdi Hashi called on the President to urgently investigate the country’s public finance law, which Farmajo recently submitted to the Somali Parliament.

A statement from the office of Speaker Abdi Hashi Abdullahi stated that the Speaker of the House of Representatives had falsified the process of implementing the country’s public finance law, saying it had not been reviewed by members of the Upper House.

“This law will not be implemented as long as it is in line with its constitutional order in accordance with Article 85 and Article 90 (f) of the Provisional Constitution,” wrote Senator Abdi Hashi Abdullahi.

However, this comes at a time when the dispute between the two houses of parliament is still raging over the 20/21 election.
