Jowhar (SD) – Hirshabelle State of Somalia has announced their State Minister of Justice has been diagnosed with Coronavirus.

The minister who is also a member of the Hirshabelle’s parliament has been identified as Khalif Mumin Tohow, according to Hirshabelle’s Minister of Information Mohamed Abdirahman Mohamed.

The diagnosed minister has been living in a Hotel in Jowhar, which has caused community spreading concerns.

The confirmation of the case caused lots of Ministers and Hirshabelle MP’s to self quarantine in Jowhar.

Minister Tohow is the first Somali official to be diagnosed with Covid-19 in the country, increasing fears of community spread in Somalia.
