CAIRO (SD) – A story of a Somali female who killed an Egyptian man who tried to rape her has been widely covered in the international press, especially in the Arab world.

The woman 15, told police she had killed the man driving a Rickshaw she was on after telling him to stop several times, but ignored her.

According to local media reports, the incident took place in Giza province, and the victim went to nearby police station, with a lawyer provided by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Egyptian public prosecutor’s office ordered her release pending an investigation into the killing, after being detained for four days.

The woman told the Police that she stabbed him in the kidney during the attack.

Egypt has a high rate of sexual violence including murder, especially on public transportion.
