Abiy Ahmed’s emissary visits Djibouti

Djibouti (SD) The President of the Republic, His Excellency Ismail Omar Guelleh, received this Monday afternoon at the Palais de la République, an emissary of Ethiopian Prime Minister, His Excellency Abiy Ahmed Ali.

The Emissary received, Mr. Guido Andargachou, who is none other than the Special Advisor to the Ethiopian Prime Minister for Security Affairs, carried a message.

The hearing served as the framework for an exchange on the situation in Ethiopia these days, the scene of an armed conflict between the country’s national defense forces and the TPLF region.

Djibouti Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, participated in this meeting.

Also note, Ethiopian side, the presence at these meetings of the Ambassador of the Federal and Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Republic of Djibouti, His Excellency Birhanu Tsegaye.

At the end of this hearing, the Government of Djibouti issued, through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the following official statement:

′′ The Republic of Djibouti is following with great concern the situation of internal conflict in Ethiopia since 4 November 2020, an armed conflict between Ethiopian national defense forces and TPLF in the Tigray region.

Djibouti fully supports the unity and territorial integrity of the Federal and Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

Similarly, the Djibouti Government reaffirmed that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali’s government is the only guarantor of this unity and the territorial integrity of Ethiopia.

On the other hand, Djibouti is calling for a peaceful resolution of this internal crisis in Ethiopia under the leadership of His Excellency Abiy Ahmed, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia.

Finally, Djibouti expresses its availability to support, if necessary, efforts aimed at the peaceful resolution of this crisis “.
