Somali Parliament Approves Judicial Service Council and Independent Anti-Corruption Commission

Mogadishu (SD) – Members of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Somalia today held its 6th meeting of the 8th Session today at Villa Hargeisa to debate and vote on the Judicial Service Commission and members of the anti-corruption commission.

The Minister of Justice of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur (Jama), presented a report on the members of the Judicial Service Commission and the names of the members of the Council.

Some members of the House of Representatives expressed their views on the Minister’s report to the House and the members expected work.

The members of the House then voted unanimously in favor of the members of the committees with 145 votes, and no member objected or abstained.

The Minister of Justice of the Federal Government of Somalia thanked the Members of Parliament for approving the members of the Judicial Service Council and the members of the Independent Anti-Corruption Commission.

Speaker of the Federal Republic of Somalia Mohamed Mursal at the conclusion of the meeting said that the Ministry of Justice should set up budgets for the Commissions and should discuss the matter with relevant agencies before the budget comes before the house at the end of the year.
